Lagganhouse Country Park is set in a beautiful wooded valley which nestles deep in the South Ayrshire hills. With stunning views over the pretty village of Ballantrae, across the Ayrshire Coastline and to Ireland beyond, Lagganhouse is ideally situated for exploring the natural and unspoilt beauty of South-West Scotland and is the perfect base for relaxing with family and friends and escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Set in the grounds of a former Victorian Country Estate, Lagganhouse Country Park, is a popular retreat for everybody from families to individuals who want to relax, get to one with nature, enjoy lovely woodland walks or explore the wider area. Located deep in the heart of Ballantrae, Lagganhouse is surrounded by nature in its finest form with rare Red Squirrels being just one of the species which claim Lagganhouse as their home, aswell as hedgehogs, bunnies and even some rare birds. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area and for those who wish to venture further afield.  Just 15 miles away is the Ferry Port at Cairnryan - where you can cross over to Ireland in less than two hours. The Galloway Forest and Glentrool are nearby, Port Patrick with its stunning harbour and cosy olde-world pubs is 30 minutes by car and Culzean Castle which offers a whole array of activities is also a half-hour drive away. Seaside lovers are spoilt for choice by the abundance of beaches along the coast from Stranraer to Troon.  And Golfers – why not improve your handicap on one of the World-Class or local Golf Courses including nearby Turnberry?  Pony Trekking, Fishing and Rambling are also available locally and there’s a great choice of shops and restaurants in neighbouring Stranraer or Ayr. On-site facilities at Lagganhouse include a Heated Indoor Swimming Pool Complex with Sauna, fantastic Children’s Playground, Kids Arcade and The Red Squirrel Inn – our comfortable Family Bar with regular evening entertainment. There is also a small shop where you can buy your basic groceries, fresh rolls and morning newspaper.
